Official Grading Requirements

Tenure: 3 months after 6th kyu

Green-belt student demonstrating yoko-geri-keage

Kihon

  1. 1From zenkutsu-dachi with gedan-barai move forward with chudan-oizuki.
  2. 2Move backward with gedan-barai to Gyaku zuki.
  3. 3Move forward with age-uke to Gyaku zuki.
  4. 4Move backward Uchi-soto-uke to Gyaku zuki.
  5. 5Move forward with chudan-Soto-uke to Gyaku zuki.
  6. 6Change to kokutsu-dachi and move backward with shuto-uke.
  7. 7Move forwards kokutsu-dachi with shuto-uke.
  8. 8Turn, moving forward with mae-geri from zenkutsu-dachi.
  9. 9Turn around with zenkutsu-dachi, Mawashi geri moving forwards.
  10. 10Change to kiba-dachi and move sideways with yoko-geri-keage and return using the other leg to kick. The same for yoko-geri-kekomi.
  11. 11Kiba-dachi and move sideways with yoko-geri-Kekomi and return using the other leg to kick.

Kumite

  1. 1Sanbon Kumite is optional (examiners choice)
  2. 2Kihon ippon kumite – single attack and defence
  3. 3Jodan x 1
  4. 4Chudan x 1
  5. 5Mae geri x 1
  6. 6Left & right hand side – examiner’s choice
  7. 7Counters must be a zuki or uchi or keri (keri means kick)
  8. 8The same counter may not be demonstrated twice in a row
